Secondary Glazing
Secondary glazing
is still widely used in many areas in the commercial and domestic market
When you do not want to remove your existing windows,
secondary glazing can be the answer to those draughty
cold windows. With the amount of different styles we can normally secondary
glaze your existing windows so they keep their original appearance outside,
but inside will keep you comfortable in your home.
Horizontal Sliders
The most widely used system on flat windows where there are 2,3 or 4
panels, the secondary is fitted behind the main window and the uprights
line up with the window mullions; in most cases you cannot see the secondary
glazing from the outside. Often used to reduce noise pollution and eliminate
draughts.
Vertical Sliders
Due to the characteristic of the existing main window, the balanced vertical
slider gives you access to both opening sashes and has a tilt back facility
for easy cleaning often used in older properties.
Lift Out
This is the most economical type of secondary glazing; the most common
application is where there is limited access to the primary window which
is normally a fixed pane.
Hinged Units
When it comes to providing unobtrusive secondary glazing, the hinged
system provides the best solution since there are no transoms or mullions
and it gives you easy access for opening the primary window.
